My strategies, and how each compares with its backtest

What each strategy card says, how live trades are compared with that version's own backtest, and the messages you can ask for.

Updated 12 October 2026 · 3 minute read

Strategies has one card for each strategy you wrote. Open a card for the strategy's own page.

On each card

  • Running on 2 accounts, or the date you last backtested it.
  • A panel: All normal, Worth a look, or Not running.
  • This month, after fees, and your last trades as small bars: green up, red down.

Strategies that are running come first, then the rest by name.

Compared with its own backtest

Wildflower knows which version of a strategy placed each trade. Live trades are compared with that version's own backtest, never with another strategy and never with anyone else's results.

They are compared by the amount each trade risked, so trading a bigger size alone never counts as a change. Dollar figures on the page are worked back from that.

It says Worth a look when any of these is true:

  • The losing run now is longer than the longest in its backtest.
  • The drop from its high is deeper than its backtest's deepest.
  • The last 20 trades lost more than its backtest's worst 20 in a row.
  • It took more trades in the last 7 days than its backtest ever did in 7 days.

That is a fact about what happened, not advice. The two buttons, Pause it and Look at it in Backtest, are there if you want them. Pause holds new entries on the accounts running it and leaves anything open untouched.

With no backtest of the version that runs, the panel says there is nothing to compare with yet.

Improve it in Backtest

This opens Backtest on the exact version your accounts run, so your test is on the same rules. A change you save there is a new version. Your accounts keep the old one until you put the new one on them.

Tell me when

Ask for a message when a line you choose is reached on any account running it:

  • A losing run reaches a number of trades
  • The day's loss reaches an amount
  • The drop from its high reaches an amount

The boxes start empty, and Wildflower puts no number in them. Leave a box empty for no message.

You get one message each time a line is reached, not a stream of them. A day's loss that moves back and forth across your line sends one message that day. A losing run sends one message for that run. A new run, a new day or a new high starts again. Messages arrive the way you chose in your notification settings, a few minutes after a trade closes.

What's next

One trade, in detail.
