The news window depends on a calendar of economic releases, and that calendar comes from sources outside Wildflower. Occasionally none of them can be read.
What happens by default
Your account keeps trading. Entries carry on unchanged, which means your news window cannot be applied and a position could open close to a release nobody could see.
That is a real trade-off and it is stated rather than hidden. The reason for choosing it: the previous behaviour held entries during an outage, and an outage on somebody else's endpoint can last weeks. A paying account sitting silently stopped for weeks over a protection nobody promised was the worse of the two failures.
So the outage is made loud instead. Wildflower reads from several independent sources, retries, alerts its own team, and emails you at the serious end.
Choosing the other way
In Bot settings, under the news rule, choose Pause new entries and email me for that account. Then nothing new opens until the calendar is readable again, and you get an email when it starts. Positions already open, and their stops and targets, are untouched.
Each account answers this separately, and the page always shows whether the answer running is yours or ours.
Where you see it
While that choice is holding entries, the Activity page's Everything else tab records it. The Status page shows the health of the news sources themselves, from the same checks our own team is alerted by.
What can go wrong
If Wildflower cannot read the window setting itself, rather than the calendar, it is handled differently. New entries are blocked, and the reason names the setting. Wildflower does not trade on a setting it cannot read.
