Rithmic is a futures trading platform. Traders use it directly, and so do a number of prop firms. Connecting it needs one thing set up on Rithmic's side first.
Before you connect
Rithmic needs a paid market-data subscription on your account. Wildflower's connection to Rithmic doesn't work with a Rithmic demo trial. Log in to Rithmic and check your subscription is active before you start.
How to connect
- Open Connections and choose Add a broker, then Rithmic.
- Enter your Rithmic username and password.
- Choose your System name from the list. Rithmic's own systems are at the top. Firms that run on Rithmic are grouped below.
- Select Send to my computer.
Your browser locks your password so only your computer can open it, before anything is sent. We never see it.
What the page tells you next
The connection appears on the page and moves through four states, so you always know where your sign-in is:
- Sent to your computer, opening it. The locked sign-in is on its way.
- Signing in on your computer. Your computer has opened it and is logging in to Rithmic.
- Signed in. The accounts under the login appear below the connection, switched off.
- Sign-in refused. Rithmic said no, and the page shows Rithmic's own words for why.
It normally takes under a minute. You never need to enter the sign-in twice. If the page is still waiting, it says so and tells you to leave it.
The connection is not one of your accounts
One Rithmic login makes two rows on the page, and they look alike. The top one is the connection, and it says so: Connection (signs in, discovers accounts, does not trade). It holds no money, takes no trades and runs no strategy. It lets Wildflower log in and find your real accounts, which appear under it. Give your strategy and settings to those accounts, never to the connection. Removing the connection takes the sign-in away from every account under it, so the page asks you to confirm first.
Picking the right system
Choose the system your account is really on. If you bought your account from a prop firm, choose that firm's entry, not one of Rithmic's own. A Lucid Trading account signs in on LucidTrading, not on Rithmic 01. The wrong one makes Rithmic refuse the sign-in.
What can go wrong
- Rithmic refused the sign-in ("permission denied"). Rithmic got the sign-in and said no on that system. The cause is the wrong system name (see above), or a market-data subscription that isn't active. Check both, then enter the sign-in again. The connection stays on or off as you set it. Wildflower tries again every few minutes, and emails you when it is refused and when it works.
- Your login is signed in somewhere else. Rithmic allows one session per login. Close R Trader Pro, or anything else using the same login, and Wildflower signs in again by itself.
- Another Wildflower connection signed in at the same moment. This happens briefly during an update. Wildflower signs in again by itself.
- Username or password rejected. Rithmic checks both. Enter them again carefully.
- Rithmic declined the connection. This isn't about your login, and trying again won't change it. Ask the firm whose system you chose to enable Wildflower on it. The account stays on or off as you set it, and Wildflower picks it up once the firm has.
- Still waiting for your computer. Nothing is lost, and you don't need to enter the sign-in again. Check the computer running Wildflower is on and online. The page updates by itself.
- The account won't switch on. Before live trading, Wildflower runs safety checks on each broker connection. If a check hasn't passed, the account won't switch on, and its page shows the reason.
Removing a connection and adding it again
Removing a connection never deletes your trade history. If you add the same login back later, it returns as the same connection, with everything recorded against it still there.
What's next
If it won't connect at all, work through the troubleshooting steps.
