Notifications have two levels of setting and three channels (in-app, email and push). So there are a few places a message can be switched off.
1. Check the event is on
Go to Settings, then notifications. Each event has its own row, and each row shows the channels it can use:
- Order filled: in-app and push
- Trade won, Trade lost, Trading halt, Guardrail reached: in-app, email and push
- Strategy status: in-app and email
- Daily summary, Weekly report, Monthly report: email
- Account and product emails: email
The weekly report starts switched off. If you have never had one, that is why. The daily and monthly ones start switched on.
2. Check the account's own setting
An account's own setting comes first, then your profile setting, then the starting setting. If you set one account to be quieter than the rest, it stays quieter. So check the account as well as your profile.
3. Check the channel
- Email. Look in your spam folder, and check the address on your profile is one you read.
- Push. Phone notifications are not available on iPhone or Android, so nothing arrives on this channel for anybody. Email carries the same alerts at the same moment. Your quiet hours only apply to push, so a quiet-hours window does not change anything you receive.
- In-app. These appear in the app whether or not anything else does. If in-app works and email does not, the problem is the email channel, not the setting.
4. Check our delivery is working
The Status page shows whether each of our ways of reaching you is working. It uses the same test our own alarms use. A channel that has not been set up shows as Not set up. That is neither working nor broken, and it is never shown as green.
What can go wrong
The Trading halt alert matters most. If you rely on it, keep in-app and email both switched on for that row. You can check in-app delivery by looking for halt messages in the app after a halt.
