Pick examples on your chart

Describe a kind of market loosely, then tap the stretches of your own chart that look like it. The numbers are measured from your picks, on your device.

You don't need to know the numbers for a kind of market. Describe it, point at examples on your own chart, and Wildflower measures the numbers from what you pointed at.

Pick your examples

On Kinds of market, open a kind and choose Pick examples on my chart. For a kind in your own words, the same choice is under what Wildflower built from your words.

  1. Choose a chart: one of your own chart files kept on this device, or the practice chart (made-up prices). If the kind has no chart chosen yet, choose the candles.
  2. Wildflower shows about six stretches of that chart that fit the kind most closely, spread across the chart, closest first. Tap Yes on the ones that look like what you mean, and No on the ones that don't. You can also choose Mark one yourself and tap where a stretch starts and ends.
  3. Choose Measure from my picks.

How the numbers are measured

The numbers come only from the stretches you said yes to, read at each stretch's last candle:

  • "fit inside ___ points" is the widest of your stretches, and "the last ___ candles" is the shortest of them.
  • "closes above the high of the last ___ candles" is the fewest candles one of your breakouts closed beyond.
  • An average is the one that agrees with every stretch you picked and with the most of their candles, less any in the ones you said no to.

Choosing which stretches to show is Wildflower's. Every number is yours, measured from your picks.

The read-back

The page reads it back as its plain sentence with your numbers in it, with a line such as "Measured from your 4 picks on your chart." It says how many of your picks it matches, and how often it matches across that chart, for example "Across the whole chart, it matches 18% of the candles." That is a fact about your own chart, not advice. Every number stays yours to change, and the lines update as you do. Nothing is saved until you choose Save, Test it or Add this kind.

Your own words

Loose words are fine, such as "price not really progressing, staying in a tight area, just wobbling sideways". Wildflower reads the shape they describe, such as staying within a distance over some candles or an average rising, and leaves every number empty. It never picks a number. Distances are then shown in points. A line examples can't measure, such as Bollinger bands, is left for you to fill in.

Your chart stays on your device

All of this happens in your browser. Your candles are never sent to Wildflower. Only the finished numbers are saved, the same as numbers you type. The kind is read by the same rules Backtest and the Bot use, so a stretch you said yes to is one the Bot would name the same way.
